Zodiac Showcase 28th June 2008A DAY AT THE MOVIES.The whole club is putting on a show for all parents and friends. The gymnasts will perform slick routines of gymnastics skills, dance and vault and trampet to a montage of film music in a two hour show. The gymnasts will rehearse in the morning and perform at 12.30pm. This will be videoed by a professional company called Wizard, and DVD's are available for sale through the club. The show will finish at 3pm and the hall cleared ready for the club disco party from 4.30pm. We Are Celebrating 10 years asZodiac 1998 to 2008Zodiac will be celebrating 10 years of gymnastics. If you were a past member of the club it would be wonderful if you came to watch, and help us celebrate. There will be a big table with photos of past gymnasts, and even present ones when they were much younger! Look out for your coach as a gymnast years ago! All gymnasts in show will be wearing a free celebration T-shirt, with each class in a different colour. You will get a chance to peep at some of the routines at Caterham Carnival on 14th June. The display team will be performing Oliver, with the boys squad and girls doing a montage of Action Heros. Please come along to the Carnival to watch and cheer, it is a fantastic atmosphere and a great afternoon out. The club has increased its numbers and now attends Regional level, Club level, and recreational level competitions. So every weekend in June will see Coach Carolle dash to 4 different venues for 4 different competitions, along with Coach Dawn. Sponsored Tumble 2008In March we did our yearly sponsored tumble to raise money for equipment. The parents event was well attended and the gymnasts had great fun watching. Despite the school holidays being at different times, all gymnasts managed to make it in to do their tumble. We are still waiting for monies to come in but so far we have raised a grand total of £1,194.40. Watch this space for the grand total. We hope to buy a new beam and some more landing mats. Past News.Since our move in December 2006 we have helped judge a Warlingham inter Schools Gymnastic competition for years 7 & 8. We did a club fund raising Sponsored Tumble with gymnasts and parents in Feb 2007. With some generous donations and sponsor money we raised £3,000.00 and purchased light weight fly mats which the school and gymnastic club could use. This aids easy and quick set up for the school classes and gymnastic classes. In June 2007 we ran our inter club gymnastic competition and had a disco afterwards. Lots of families turned up and enjoyed the whole day. September 2007 Coach Carolle now runs the Warlingham after school gymnastic club on Tuesday for GCSE students. This will help them acheive a high score in their exam results. September 2007 has seen an increase in the girls squad, with the introduction of a Transistion Class.
